Ugh....the most rapidly declining day EVER!

Yesterday was a rough day.  It was one of those day where you just have too much to do, too much goes wrong, and you end the day sobbing miserably.

Rewind to morning where I went to my first mammogram.  Surprisingly, this was the highlight of my day.  It wasn't nearly as uncomfortable as I thought it would be and the results were fine.  It hit me, however, that at 25 I had joined this club of women that annually has to make there way over for one because of my family history.    It's a scary place, just sitting around waiting for a 30 second reading that could completely dissolve your life as you know it.  Yet, I know, that it is important to always stay a step ahead by getting screened regularly.  After I got my results, a huge wave of relief hit me and I found myself crying in the changing room just thinking about what my mom had gotten through, what SO many women go through, and being so grateful for everything in my life...

Later on in the day I went to Dominick's because I needed to pick up some stuff for the cookies I was baking.  I ended up dropping my wallet there (which I didn't realize until hours later).  Now, someone did return the wallet, but of course took the $300 cash that was in there!  Mia's birthday money gone just like that.  I just don't understand people...how can someone do something like that???  That person knows that when I get my wallet back, I'll know the money is gone and be terribly upset over it.  I cried all night thinking about how I can't find a job, and we don't have a house,  and money doesn't grow on trees- ESPECIALLY not in our family!  I'm trying to tell myself that maybe this person needed it more than we do...maybe they can't put food n the table, or afford presents for their kids, etc.

If that's the case, I hope they put the money to good use.  And even though it stings that the money is gone, I know that I have far too much in life to be grateful for to be bitter about anything superficial.

Hire me, please?

So, since I can't find a "real job" aka compliance/audit/banking, I went ahead and got my real estate license thinking I can sit at home on my booty whilst making lots of money selling houses.  Well here's the thing- I HATE calling people.  I don't even call people I know and like, let alone calling strangers and being like "hey, wanna buy a house?"  That sales gene has been enitrely and completely implanted into my brother, NOT me.  Ugh...I can't even sell myself a house apparently, but that's a whole entirely different blog!

I want to point out that I am totally and utterly grateful to Bank of America for laying me off, because I got to spend Mia's first year+ at home with her, but this world runs on money, NOT Dunkin so don't you believ it!  Bank of America, do you want me back?

I really don't get it- I'm young, smart, experienced, willing to learn new things, but nobody wants me.  WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?  I get that there are a bazillion other unemployed people with more experience or whatnot, but don't these employers realize how freakin' fantabulous I am?

I do have an interview tomorrow, so wish me oodles and oodles of luck and hope that when they ask about my skills I don't start singing the Hot Dog Song!

Woof Woof...

I've spent months trying to get my daughter to mimic the sound a dog makes.  After all, isn't that usually one of the first things a baby says?  I've also spent her first year of life making sure everything she eats is organic and being sort of a food-nazi (I think most of my family members would agree).  Organic this, natural that.  Veggie this, fruity that.  Fast forward to today when I find my one year old on all fours with her face planted in the dog's food bowl saying "aff, aff" and snacking on Science Diet.

Motherhood, sweet motherhood.

“Shut Your Pie-hole…mmm…pie”

Honestly, we’ve all been there. You are pregnant, and people feel the need to comment on the size of your belly. Now let me tell you, my belly was HUGE. I mean, I must’ve started showing the day I got pregnant! I couldn’t wait until the second trimester to tell people because by then girlfriend had a BUMP. However, I LOVED my belly. It was big and beautiful and it was harboring a gorgeous and healthy baby. But hormones ARE hormones, and every time someone commented on just HOW huge my stomach was I wanted to stab them in the eye with a very sharp object. There was the time we went to Mexico when I was only 4.5 months along and the flight check-in woman asked for my doctor’s permission for me to fly?!?! Not a happy moment. Of course you don’t want to be the crazy pregnant chick that starts crying so you have to keep it together! There is also my mother-in-law who had to tell me 973.4 times how she was still wearing her regular clothes when she was five months pregnant…and here I am in a muumuu sweating between my thighs and secretly hoping she gains 20 pounds by morning and loses the ability to speak.

Confessions of a Stay at Home Mom

I have wanted to be a mom EVER SINCE I CAN REMEMBER (my husband told me not to write that because people would think I am nutty). BUT IT IS TRUE! Motherhood is by far the most rewarding and amazing thing a woman can do, but it is also challenging and stressful. That’s why I created DramafortheMama: to give mothers a place to read stories just like theirs, where we can laugh, cry, and just get good information about the latest baby products, celebrity baby news, and how to fit our asses back into those damn skinny jeans! So enjoy reading about all the craziness I’ve encountered since becoming a mama!
